GenAI Essential for Everyday Productivity

Generative AI (GenAI) is moving from experimentation to operational use. Organisations are no longer asking whether GenAI works. They are trying to determine where it delivers real value and how to apply it safely in daily workflows.

GenAI Essentials for Everyday Productivity is designed as a hands-on hybrid programme focused on applied workplace use. Participants move beyond prompt usage into practical workflow design, learning how GenAI can support real departmental tasks such as drafting, coordination, information synthesis, and decision support.

The programme blends strategic context, guided exploration, and a structured build lab. Participants leave not just with ideas, but with a working productivity workflow, tested prompts, and a practical roadmap for applying GenAI in their roles.

Programme Objective
  • Apply generative AI tools to support routine work activities such as drafting, summarisation, coordination, and information synthesis within their job scope.
  • Analyse existing work processes to identify tasks suitable for GenAI augmentation, distinguishing between high-value use and inappropriate use.
  • Configure and test simple AI-enabled workflows using available tools, refining prompts and process logic to improve output relevance and usability.
  • Evaluate GenAI outputs for accuracy, bias, and reliability, and apply basic validation practices before workplace use.
  • Plan how GenAI can be introduced into their roles or teams, identifying risks, safeguards, and immediate implementation opportunities.
  • Produce an action plan outlining one workflow, required tools, expected benefits, and next steps for application within 30 days.

Participants are required to create and access their own individual accounts for the tools used during the hands-on lab components. The workshop will utilise the following platforms:

  • Zapier
  • OpenAI
  • Claude Desktop

Participants must be able to:

  • Register using a valid email address
  • Log in securely during the session
  • Perform basic configuration steps as guided by the facilitator

These accounts are essential for participation in the workflow and agentic lab exercises. Participants who are unable to create or access the required tools may have limited ability to complete the practical components of the programme.

Participants are encouraged to use a personal device (laptop) with stable internet access. Corporate firewall restrictions should be checked in advance where applicable.

Programme Outline

• Role of Generative AI in workplace productivity and operational workflows.
• Concept of agentic workflows and structured human–AI collaboration.
• Differences between tools, capabilities, and AI skills in workflow environments.
• Principles of structured prompt design and context management (including MCP as structured context logic).
• Fundamentals of workflow orchestration using automation platforms.
• Limitations of Generative AI including hallucination, bias, and reliability risks.
• Responsible use practices including validation checkpoints, safeguards, and human oversight requirements.
• Organisational considerations for introducing GenAI into workplace processes, including readiness and governance factors.
